discourse
意味: Written or spoken communication on a particular subject; in academia, a particular way of talking about and understanding the world shaped by power relations and social structures.
In everyday usage, discourse means formal discussion or debate. In academic contexts, particularly in the humanities and social sciences, discourse (influenced by Foucault) refers to systems of thought and language that shape what can be said and known about a topic. 'Discourse analysis' is a method for studying language in its social context.
