bilingual
意味: Able to speak two languages fluently; relating to or involving two languages.
Bilingualism can be simultaneous (acquiring two languages from birth) or sequential (learning a second language after the first is established). Research suggests that bilingualism offers cognitive benefits, including improved executive function and delayed onset of dementia. In education, bilingual programmes teach in two languages. Many countries are officially bilingual (such as Canada with English and French, or Wales with Welsh and English). The word can describe individuals, communities, or institutions.
