attest
意味: To provide evidence of or bear witness to the truth, existence, or quality of something; to declare formally that something is genuine or correct.
Attest has both an evidential and a formal-declaration sense. In its evidential sense, archaeological finds attest to ancient trade routes, or sales figures attest to a product's popularity. In its formal sense, a notary attests a signature, or a witness attests a will. The construction 'attest to' is standard for the evidential meaning. It is common in academic, legal, and journalistic writing where proof and verification matter.
