assonance
意味: The repetition of similar vowel sounds in nearby words, used as a literary device to create rhythm or mood. For example, the long 'o' sounds in 'go slow over the road.'
Assonance is subtler than rhyme or alliteration and is often used in poetry and prose to create a musical quality without full rhyme. It can establish mood — long vowel sounds tend to slow the pace and create a sombre or contemplative feel, whilst short vowels can create energy and urgency. Assonance is sometimes called 'vowel rhyme' and is contrasted with consonance (repetition of consonant sounds). Identifying assonance requires careful attention to pronunciation rather than spelling.
