advocacy
意味: Public support or recommendation of a particular cause, policy, or course of action; the act of speaking or arguing in favour of something, especially on behalf of others.
Advocacy is a broad term covering everything from legal representation to public campaigning. In the UK, advocacy services help vulnerable people (those with disabilities, mental health conditions, or children in care) navigate systems and have their voices heard. Policy advocacy involves lobbying government to change laws or regulations. In law, an advocate is a person who argues a case in court (the Scottish equivalent of a barrister). 'Self-advocacy' refers to individuals speaking up for their own rights.
