Spam
意味: Unwanted mass messages; to send excessive messages.
Spam is digital noise—unwanted messages flooding your inbox, group chat, or comments. As a verb, 'spamming' means sending excessive repetitive content, whether malicious (scam emails) or just annoying (flooding chat with messages). The term expanded beyond email to describe any overwhelming, unwanted digital deluge. 'Spam accounts' or 'spam bots' are fake profiles. Marking something as spam is both functional (filtering) and dismissive (labeling it worthless).

起源と歴史
The term derives from Monty Python's 1970 'Spam' sketch, where the word is repeated endlessly, drowning out all other conversation—just like unwanted emails. Early internet users on Usenet and BBSs adopted 'spam' for repetitive, unwanted posts in the 1980s-90s. By the email era, spam had become synonymous with junk mail. The term is one of the most successful internet etymology stories, with a comedy sketch naming a billion-dollar problem.
