Perfect tenses, used to, and would for past habits
はじめに
中級では、過去と現在をつなぐ時制をマスターし、過去の習慣を表す洗練された表現を学びます。現在完了形は英語で最も重要な——そして最も間違いやすい——時制のひとつです。
「used to」と「would」の微妙な違いも探ります。どちらも過去の習慣を表しますが、なぜネイティブが場面によって使い分けるのか、その感覚をつかめるようになります。
日本語の「〜したことがある」「〜していた」と英語の時制はぴったり一致しないので、直訳せずに英語の感覚で使い分ける練習がここからの鍵になりますよ。
