はじめに
単文から一歩進んで、独立した節同士を結んで複文(compound sentences)を作る方法を学びます。これで文章がより流れるように、洗練されたものになります。
FANBOYS——for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so——の7つの等位接続詞がアイデアを組み合わせるツールです。それぞれに特定の意味と正しい句読法のルールがあります。
日本語は文末で「〜が」「〜して」「〜ので」と接続しますが、英語は節と節の間に接続詞を挟む形。この構造の違いに慣れると、ネイティブらしい自然な文が書けるようになりますよ。
