Gatekeep
意味: To deliberately keep something exclusive by not sharing it with others — hoarding a secret, place, or trend.
Gatekeeping means intentionally keeping something to yourself so it doesn't become mainstream or overrun. 'I'm gatekeeping this restaurant' means you love it too much to share it widely. It can be serious (keeping a hidden beach a secret) or tongue-in-cheek. The mantra 'gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss' turned it into a meme. Accusing someone of gatekeeping means they're being exclusionary.

起源と歴史
While 'gatekeeping' has existed in academic and cultural discourse for decades, Gen Z repurposed it around 2020-2021 for everyday secrecy and exclusivity. The viral phrase 'gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss' (a parody of 'live, laugh, love') cemented it in the lexicon.
