Base camp
意味: A staging area from which expeditions, climbs, or adventures begin.
Originally a mountaineering term for the lowest camp on a major climb, 'base camp' has expanded into everyday language. Your hotel can be your 'base camp' for exploring a city. The office is 'base camp' for the day. In outdoor culture, base camp is where you set up your tent and gear before attempting a summit. Everest Base Camp has become a famous trek in its own right.
