Significado: Any substance that people or animals eat for nourishment
'Food' refers to anything edible that provides nutrients. It's an uncountable noun (we say 'some food' not 'a food'). 'Food for thought' means something to think about. 'Fast food' is quickly prepared food. 'Health food' is food considered especially nutritious.
