transducer
Significado: A device that converts energy from one form to another, most commonly transforming a physical quantity such as pressure, temperature, or motion into an electrical signal, or vice versa.
Transducers are fundamental to measurement and control systems. Microphones, loudspeakers, thermocouples, and strain gauges are all transducers. In medical imaging, ultrasound transducers convert electrical pulses into sound waves and back again. The term is broad and encompasses both sensors (input transducers) and actuators (output transducers). It appears frequently in engineering specifications, biomedical literature, and industrial automation contexts.
Ejemplos
- The ultrasound transducer emitted high-frequency pulses and detected their echoes to produce a detailed image of the patient's abdomen.
