tolerance
Significado: In engineering, the permissible amount of variation in a measurement or dimension. More broadly, the willingness to accept behaviour, beliefs, or opinions different from one's own.
Engineering tolerance defines how much a dimension can deviate from its specified value and still be acceptable — tight tolerances mean very precise manufacturing, whilst loose tolerances allow more variation. In medicine, drug tolerance refers to the body's diminishing response to a substance after repeated use. The social meaning — accepting diversity and difference — is the most common everyday usage. All three senses share the core idea of an acceptable range or limit.
