synonymous
Significado: Having the same or nearly the same meaning as another word or phrase; so closely associated with something as to be inseparable from it in the public mind.
Synonymous has a precise linguistic sense (words that share a meaning) and a broader figurative one (things so closely linked that one immediately suggests the other). The figurative use is more common in journalism and general writing: 'his name became synonymous with corruption.' True synonymy is rare — most so-called synonyms differ in register, connotation, or collocation. The word is almost always followed by 'with.' It collocates with 'synonymous with,' 'virtually synonymous,' 'become synonymous,' and 'broadly synonymous.'
