proxy
Significado: A person authorised to act on behalf of another, or a substitute used to represent or measure something else.
Proxy has legal, corporate, and general senses. In corporate governance, a 'proxy vote' allows shareholders to delegate their voting rights. In research and statistics, a 'proxy measure' is a substitute indicator used when direct measurement is impractical. In computing, a 'proxy server' acts as an intermediary. The phrase 'by proxy' means through a substitute — as in 'Munchausen syndrome by proxy.' It collocates with 'war,' 'vote,' 'server,' and 'measure.'
