predicate
Significado: The part of a sentence that contains the verb and states something about the subject, or (as a verb) to base or establish something on a particular condition or assumption.
In grammar, the predicate is everything in a clause except the subject — it tells you what the subject does, is, or experiences. In formal and academic writing, 'predicate' is also used as a verb meaning to found or base something upon a condition, as in 'the theory is predicated on the assumption that...' This verbal usage is common in academic essays, legal documents, and policy discussions.
