neoclassical
Significado: Relating to a revival of classical Greek and Roman styles, especially in art, architecture, and literature from the mid-18th to early 19th century.
Neoclassicism emphasised order, symmetry, and restraint, drawing inspiration from the ideals of ancient Greece and Rome. In architecture, it produced iconic buildings such as the British Museum and much of Georgian London. In economics, neoclassical theory focuses on how individuals maximise utility and firms maximise profit through rational decision-making. The prefix 'neo-' (new) distinguishes the revival from the original classical period.
