intractable
Significado: Extremely difficult to manage, resolve, or deal with. In computing, describes a problem for which no efficient algorithm is known, making it impractical for large inputs.
Intractable is the natural antonym of tractable and appears frequently in political, medical, and scientific writing. An intractable conflict is one that resists all attempts at resolution; intractable pain is pain that does not respond to standard treatment. In computer science, intractable problems (typically NP-hard) can theoretically be solved but require time that grows exponentially with input size, making them effectively unsolvable for realistic cases. The word carries a tone of frustration and stubbornness.
