humanism
Significado: A philosophical outlook emphasising human reason, ethics, and dignity as the basis for living a good life, typically without recourse to religious or supernatural beliefs.
Humanism has two main historical strands: Renaissance humanism, which revived classical learning and placed humans at the centre of intellectual inquiry, and secular humanism, which emerged in the 19th and 20th centuries as a non-religious ethical framework. Modern humanist organisations promote reason, compassion, and human rights. In the UK, Humanists UK conducts non-religious weddings, funerals, and naming ceremonies.
