hemisphere
Significado: One half of the Earth, typically divided by the equator (Northern and Southern) or by a meridian (Eastern and Western); also one half of the brain.
In geography, the hemispheres provide a basic framework for describing global location and climate patterns. The Northern Hemisphere contains most of the world's landmass and population. In neuroscience, the left and right hemispheres of the brain control different functions — the left typically associated with language and logic, the right with spatial awareness and creativity. The adjective 'hemispheric' is used in both geographical and anatomical contexts.
