desecrate
Significado: To violate the sanctity of a sacred place, object, or memory; to treat something revered with violent disrespect or contempt.
Desecrate is the direct opposite of 'consecrate' and implies a deliberate act of violation against something held sacred or deeply respected. It most commonly refers to the vandalism of churches, cemeteries, monuments, or religious artefacts, but it can also be used figuratively — 'desecrating the memory of the fallen.' The word carries a strong emotional and moral charge.
