cosmopolitan
Significado: Familiar with and at ease in many different countries and cultures; composed of people from many parts of the world; free from national prejudice or attachments.
Cosmopolitan describes both a person and a quality. A cosmopolitan person is worldly, sophisticated, and comfortable in diverse cultural settings. A cosmopolitan city is one characterised by its international population and global outlook. The term can be used admiringly to suggest openness and sophistication, or critically by nationalists and populists to imply rootlessness and disloyalty. It collocates with 'cosmopolitan city', 'cosmopolitan outlook', 'cosmopolitan elite', and 'cosmopolitan values'.
