corridor
Significado: A long, narrow passage inside a building, or a strip of land or airspace used for transport, migration, or strategic access.
Beyond its architectural meaning, 'corridor' is widely used in geography, planning, and politics. A 'transport corridor' links two major centres; a 'wildlife corridor' connects habitats to allow animal migration; and the 'corridors of power' is a well-known phrase (coined by C.P. Snow) describing the offices and institutions where political influence is exercised. In diplomacy, a corridor may refer to a strip of territory providing access to the sea.
