compartmentalise
Significado: To divide something into separate sections or categories, or to separate conflicting thoughts, emotions, or activities so they do not interfere with one another.
Compartmentalise has both a practical organisational sense and a psychological one. In intelligence and corporate contexts, it describes restricting information on a need-to-know basis to limit damage from leaks. In psychology and everyday speech, it describes the ability — or tendency — to keep different areas of life mentally separate, often as a coping mechanism. It is sometimes used admiringly but more often with a note of concern.
