certiorari
Significado: A judicial order by which a higher court reviews the decision of a lower court or tribunal, typically to determine whether there has been an error of law.
In English law, certiorari is one of the prerogative writs — extraordinary remedies available through judicial review. It is most commonly sought when a public body or inferior court is alleged to have exceeded its jurisdiction, acted in breach of natural justice, or made an error of law on the face of the record. The remedy quashes the offending decision. It collocates with 'order of,' 'writ of,' 'application for,' and 'judicial review.'
