causative
Significado: Acting as a cause; effective in producing or bringing about a result. In linguistics, denoting a verb form or construction that expresses causing someone or something to do or be something.
Causative has a general sense (producing an effect) and a technical linguistic one. In medicine and epidemiology, identifying a 'causative agent' means pinpointing what actually produces a disease or condition, as opposed to factors merely correlated with it. In grammar, causative constructions express the idea that the subject causes another entity to act: 'The teacher made the students rewrite the essay.' The word is more formal and precise than 'causal.' It collocates with 'causative agent,' 'causative factor,' 'causative role,' and 'causative construction.'
