adrenaline
Significado: A hormone produced by the adrenal glands that prepares the body for rapid action in response to danger or stress, triggering the fight-or-flight response.
Adrenaline (known as epinephrine in American medical terminology) increases heart rate, blood pressure, and energy supply. It is released during moments of excitement, fear, or physical exertion. The term is widely used figuratively — an adrenaline rush describes intense excitement, and adrenaline junkie describes someone who seeks thrilling experiences.
