Japanese abbreviated words, initialisms, and shortened expressions

Introducción

Japanese loves abbreviation. Long words get chopped (smartphone → スマホ), English phrases become initialisms (KY = 空気読めない), and common phrases shrink to a few characters (りょ = 了解).
