Significado: Dishonest, deceitful, or behaving in a way that suggests hidden motives.
'Shady' implies deliberate dishonesty or sneakiness, unlike 'sketchy' which is more about a general bad feeling. A shady person is actively being deceptive. A shady deal involves intentional fraud. 'Throwing shade' (making subtle insults) is a related expression. The term has deep roots in both general American English and AAVE.
