Rush hour
Significado: The peak traffic period when most people are commuting to or from work, typically 7-9 AM and 4-7 PM.
Rush hour in American cities can turn a 20-minute drive into a two-hour ordeal. The term has become ironic since nobody is actually rushing — they're mostly sitting in gridlock. It's used both literally for traffic and figuratively for any peak-demand period.
