Pickup line
Significado: A rehearsed, often cheesy opening line used to start a conversation with someone you find attractive.
Pickup lines range from genuinely clever to painfully corny. Classic examples include 'Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?' or 'Are you a magician? Because every time I look at you, everyone else disappears.' Most Americans find them more funny than effective, and using them sincerely can come across as cheesy. However, an intentionally bad pickup line used humorously can actually be charming.
