Being 'on the run' means you are a fugitive actively evading capture. Different from 'on the lam' (which has a more old-fashioned feel). Can also be used loosely for being very busy.

Estar 'on the run' significa ser un fugitivo que evade activamente su captura. Distinto de 'on the lam' (que tiene un aire más anticuado). También se usa en sentido coloquial para estar muy ocupado o ajetreado.

'On the run'은 도주범으로서 적극적으로 체포를 피하고 있다는 의미. 'On the lam'(좀 더 구식 느낌)과는 다르다. 느슨하게는 매우 바쁜 상태를 표현할 때도 사용된다.
