Main quest
Significado: Your primary goal or most important task — borrowed from video game terminology.
The main quest is whatever you're supposed to be focusing on right now. In video games, it's the primary storyline. In real life, it might be studying for finals, working on your career, or any major life goal. 'Stay on the main quest' means stop getting distracted. It contrasts with 'side quests' (fun distractions) and 'NPC behavior' (going through the motions).
