Detour
Significado: An alternate route taken when the main road is blocked, or any deviation from a planned course.
Detours are a constant feature of American driving, thanks to perpetual road construction. The fluorescent orange 'DETOUR' signs are iconic. Figuratively, a detour is any unexpected diversion from your plans — a career detour, a life detour, or a conversation that went on a detour.
