Critter
Significado: Any small animal or creature, especially in rural or outdoor settings.
'Critter' is the folksy, all-purpose American word for any small animal — squirrels, raccoons, opossums, lizards, bugs, or anything else that scurries, crawls, or hops. 'There is a critter in the tent!' could mean anything from a chipmunk to a spider. The word has a warm, down-home feel. 'Critter' is never used for large animals (a bear is not a critter). It can also be affectionate: 'cute little critter.' Country folk use it regularly; city people use it when they encounter wildlife.
