Bushwhacking
Significado: Hiking through dense vegetation with no trail, creating your own path.
Bushwhacking is what happens when the trail disappears or you deliberately choose to go where no trail exists. You push through brush, climb over fallen trees, and navigate by map and compass. 'We had to bushwhack for two miles' means you were fighting through vegetation. It is physically demanding, potentially dangerous, and sometimes the only way to reach certain peaks or hidden spots. Peak baggers in the Adirondacks and New England bushwhack regularly.
