Workaholic
Meaning: A person who compulsively works excessively long hours and has difficulty stopping.
A workaholic is addicted to work the way an alcoholic is addicted to alcohol. In American culture, workaholism is sometimes praised (hustle culture) and sometimes criticized (burnout culture). It describes someone who can't unplug, takes work home, and prioritizes their job over everything else.
