Whatever
Meaning: An expression of indifference, dismissal, or resigned acceptance.
'Whatever' became the ultimate American expression of teenage indifference in the 1990s. Said with the right tone, it can convey anything from mild indifference to complete dismissal to passive-aggressive annoyance. The hand gesture (forming a W with both hands) became iconic. It can also genuinely mean 'I don't mind either way.'
