Subtweet
Meaning: A post on social media that indirectly refers to someone without mentioning them by name.
A subtweet is the passive-aggressive art of talking about someone on social media without tagging or naming them. The target usually knows — and so does everyone else. It's a way to air grievances while maintaining plausible deniability. 'Subbing' has expanded beyond Twitter to any indirect social media callout.
