Standing ovation
Meaning: When the entire audience stands up and applauds to show exceptional appreciation for a performance.
A standing ovation is the highest honor an audience can give. It signals a performance so moving or impressive that sitting and clapping isn't enough. The term is used figuratively for any overwhelmingly positive reception — 'that presentation deserved a standing ovation.'
