One-hit wonder
Meaning: An artist or act known for only a single popular song, never achieving that level of success again.
A one-hit wonder has one massive hit but can't replicate it. Classic examples include Vanilla Ice ('Ice Ice Baby'), Dexys Midnight Runners ('Come On Eileen'), and Gotye ('Somebody That I Used to Know'). The term has expanded beyond music to describe anyone who achieves brief fame.
