Hater
Meaning: Someone who criticizes, discourages, or shows negativity toward others out of jealousy or spite.
A hater is someone who can't stand to see others succeed. They'll find something negative to say about everything, downplay your achievements, or try to bring you down. In AAVE and hip-hop culture, 'haters' are seen as inevitable signs of success — if nobody's hating, you're not doing anything noteworthy. 'Haters gonna hate' is the philosophy of rising above negativity.
