Dispersed camping
Meaning: Free camping on public land outside of designated campgrounds, with no facilities.
Dispersed camping means camping anywhere on public land (BLM, national forest) that is not a designated campground. No reservations, no fees, no facilities — just you and the wilderness. 'Free camping' is the draw, but you need to be fully self-sufficient: bring your own water, pack out all trash, and follow fire regulations. Overlanders and budget travelers love dispersed camping.
