Better half
Meaning: One's spouse or romantic partner, jokingly implying they are the superior one in the relationship.
Calling your partner your 'better half' is a lighthearted compliment that acknowledges they make you a better person — or that they're simply better than you. It's a charming, slightly old-fashioned way to introduce or refer to your significant other, and it's used across all demographics in America.
